Sailsbury is the site of one of the Confederate Prisoner Camps. This is the National cemetery in Sailsbury where the Union prisoners were buried.

As described in the plaque above, this area contains trenches where the prisoners were buried without markers.
Spencer was the location of the Southern Railroads shops. Water towers and switching engine.


Main shop building for work on the cars.
This area will be converted to a museum of NC Transportaion.
